Yep, she will officially be my earliest trained. Evelyn is doing so well, today she just had her first success at a bowel movement in the toilet. And she told me by herself several times that she wanted to go to the bathroom adn held it until we got there! We had no accidents today adn we are almost at the end of week three (I think- could be two weeks). Most of the time I ask her every so often, but the fact that she is telling me she needs to go tells me we are close!!! I am thrilled and so is she because now she can wear her princess underwear π She is so fun to take to the bathroom because she is so fast (none of that wait for ten minutes or so until they finally decide to go) and she tells me ” It’s coming” and then it does! It is very cute and she gets this darling smile after she does it.

Well it has to be summer, three of my four children have skinned knees. I have been told that is what happens when kids play outside all the time and wear shorts. I don’t know, we have been through two boxes of band aids and a goodly amount of Neosporin in the past few weeks. I just thought I would share the joys of the summer in the Mayo home.
Well it is fun to get some scrapbooking done and I am thrilled with how things are turning out lately, Thanks to some good advice and another mind to bounce ideas off of. Tell me what you think!
Yep this week Rora put it all together, the rocking, the motions and the idea of mobility all finally came together and now she is MOBILE. Check her out, it is so cute. I was on the phone, so ignore what i am saying, but watch how cute she is:) OK, I will have to figure out how to shrink the size of a video clip, then I will add that part.
I am quite proud of how these bats turned out, I used my Cricut and the program that goes with it, Cricut Design Studio and melded lots of ovals and their outlines (from the George Cartridge) just right and trimmed a little part of some and voila!!! Yeah for me π Each child got one as part of their favors and we played with them and ‘practiced our aim’ in a version of bean bag toss at they party.
Well I pulled it off (with TONS of help) ! MAtt had his party today (his real bday is tomorrow) and he had fun and I think so did all of the other kids. All of the moms commented on it how great it was and how we went all out etc. It is kind of nice to hear since I have been working on it for a week straight with nothing else able to happen but preparations for the party. This year’s them was superheroes. More specifically, Spiderman, Batman, and Superman. We had lots of games and three cakes and Matt got a lot of fun toys. We played Pin the S on Superman, Superhero Tag, a ball game where the two teams pass the ball under then over and back until one team wins, climbing the spider web, using a zipline like Batman, practiced throwing our batarangs into holes (like a beanbag toss but with batarangs), and a game similar to hot potato except with a glow stick (kryptonite). The web and the zipline were by far the favorites of the day. Matt had eleven friends attend and with siblings that participated we had 24 kids not including any babies or their moms. It was a zoo, but a fun one. The kids that were Matt’s friends all got a party favor in a spiderman bag of a reversible batman/superman cape-which was quite popular.
Well, We had a SUCCESSFUL trip to the dentist on Saturday. I was so relieved!!! We have had such great luck with Andrew- never a flinch or a squirm. So when it came time to take Matt, I was unprepared for the struggle that it became, at one point on one appointment, I had to put the, then, 15 month Evelyn down on the floor to sit on Matt and pin him so the dentist could look at Matt’s teeth without the kicks and hits that the hygienist received. So this time when Matt told me that he was scared of the dentist wen he was three but now he is almost five (his B day is on Saturday) he is happy to b at the dentist. And he was right! He sat with his mouth open the whole time with no squirming or moving away, no crying or continual wiping of his eyes so that no one knows he is crying or anything!!! Evelyn had her first time an was wonderful, she listened to the directions and let them clean, floss, take x-rays, and paint on the fluoride all without any problems or fights (except when they put the lead apron on her for the X-rays- ‘Heavy Mom, off, big Mom.’) She was soo good and cute, I had to post some pictures, I am so proud of all of them!!! π
Well I had a scrap night on Thursday last week, and Rora was wanting to be held a majority of the time so I got one and a half spreads done in 5 hours, but I did have fun and I helped my friend Megan get some really great spreads done as well. We are going to try to make it a by monthly thing if not more often, so we can get caught up and so I can stay sane while Robert is deployed. Here is a picture of the spread that I completed (excuse the glare). I am still working on a title for the other- it is a page of full shots and up close of Evelyn wrapped in her hoodie towel- an ideas anyone? So far all I can come up with is Bathing Beauty, but since she is in her towel not the bath, that doesn’t quite work. Your would never believe I spent so long on these, but I did π
