Yep that is right, the two boys are in school all day- 8:45-3:25 and I am enjoying just having the girls.
Matt just finished out his first week of Kindergarten with Mrs. Moore. He loves it and is in a class with quite a few other children we know. When I asked him his favorite thing about the class, he told me it was the carpet- it is the same one as was in his Pre-school class last year. Aaahhh, the important things in life π On Matt’s First Day last week it was about an hour and a half when the parents went with the students. We all got a tour of the school, Matt was chosen as Line Leader and got to hold Timmy the Turtle the class Mascot since Mrs Moore’s class is known as the Terrific Turtles.
Andrew is finishing out his second week of second grade with Mrs. Warnick. He likes being back in school but it has been an adjustment for him. Mrs Warnick is a firm believer in HW and sends home an hour worth each night- a few worksheets, phonics reading aloud (which is not necessary for him, but I want him to know the work is necessary whether or not he feels it is worth his time or not), and reading 25 minutes a night to himself. Since when we walk home we arrive at home roughly at 1600 and dinner is at 1700, Andrew gets virtually no time off for anything fun or to unwind on school days.
